2 November 2011 Meeting
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Rotary Club of Makati Mckinley.
ON the 2nd day of November 2011 AT AIM Conference Center Ramcar Room.
The Attendance Record is on file with VP Julie Icamina.
The meeting was called to order by CPM Jane Lobos who presided over the same and hosted by PE and Secretary Enrico Cano which announced to all members that a quorum was present.
The first order of business was for the election of Governor of District 3830 for Rotary Year 2014-2015 which proceeded as follows.
- CMP Jane announced the names of the 2 candidates running
- Information of the 2 candidates were distributed to the club.
- The floor was open to all club members for the to discuss the merits and accomplishments of the 2 candidates
- After a brief deliberation, CPM Jane asked for a raise of hands and the votes were counted for each candidate
- RESOLVED, that the club members present properly elected the Governor of District 3830. The RI Single Transferrable Ballot was properly filled signed by CMP Jane and PE, Sec Rico Cano.
The second order of business was for the election of Club President for Rotary Year 2013-2014 which proceeded as follows.
- CMP Jane asked all club members present if we “should proceed” with the election of Club President. She mentioned that some members who were not present would like to be part of the election exercise.
- After a brief deliberation, the club members present agreed to proceed with the election of Club President
- CMP Jane opened the floor for nominations
- Honorary member Meynard Talens Nominated PHF Eugene Tan
- Director Cherrie Tinoko seconded the motion and requested to move for closure
- CMP Jane asked for a show of hands to proceed and the move for closure passed
- RESOLVED, that the club members elected PHF Eugene Tan Club President for Rotary Year 2013-2014
The third order of business was for the planning of the Christmas Party which proceeded as follows.
- A date was suggested for Friday 9 December
- Treasurer Jean encouraged that children should be able join the festivities
- Games and perhaps a singing competition was suggested
- Treasurer Jean will work with CMP Jane for the feasibility of Makati Sports Club as the possible venue
CMP Jane then made the following announcements:
- P1000 per member EREY contribution for 100% compliance will need to be submitted by March 2012
- 14 December has been assigned by Governor Billy for his Official Visit
- Brunei to Implement Feeding Program this November with Mayamot HS in Antipolo as the beneficiary
21 September Meeting
The 8th Business Meeting of the Rotary Club of Makati McKinley for Rotary Year 2011-2012 was held on September 21, 2011 with slightly above quorum attendance rate. The following matters were taken up during the meeting:
- CMP Jane encouraged all members to join the our club’s 7th Anniversary Glee Song and Dance Contest. During the meeting, it was agreed that absent members will pay no show fee of P1,000 on top of the P2,000 they need to donate for NOT participating in the Glee presentation. - On 1 October we will be having a Medical & Dental mission in Barangay Kamandag, Antipolo City. This event is in partnership with Saint Luke’s College of Nursing. 300 beneficiaries have been pre-selected. Click Here for More Details…
7 September Meeting
The 7th Business Meeting of the Rotary Club of Makati McKinley for Rotary Year 2011-2012 was held on September 7, 2011 with slightly above quorum attendance rate. The following matters were taken up during the meeting:
- NewGen Director Jean Lopez talked about the planned projects of the Rotaract Club of EARIST, especially the “EARIST Got Talent” show. RCMMc agreed to support the talent show by providing prizes, as well as the other projects of the Rotaract Club.
- PE Rico Cano gave a classification talk, which is on IT-Desktop Support
- CMP Jane Lobos reported on recent activities and projects where RCMMc was involved, such as the ocular visit to the RYLA venue in Antipolo, and the Gatas Pangkalusugan milk donation in poor communities, also in Antipolo. She said at least 5 RCMMc members will be needed as watchers of the RYLA participants, and asked for participation from the Rotaract Club of EARIST.
- CMP Jane also announced other forthcoming activities, especially Medical/Dental Mission with Trinity University of Asia/St. Luke’s College on Oct. 1; the Area of Focus Resource Seminar (Sept. 24); and the Rotary at Work Day (Oct. 8).
- Members agreed to hold both an induction of new members and a fellowship on Sept. 14, so the occasion could still be considered a business meeting. Then on Sep. 28, the District’s Fellowship with a Twist will replace the club meeting on that day, hence members should attend this event.
17 August Meeting
- CMP Jane encourages everyone to support the following club projects listed in our events page with special emphasis on the Speech and Personality Development Seminar and Rotary Academy Module 1 this weekend.
- PE & Secretary Rico announced a possible water project that involves Ceramic Water Purification and Rainwater Collection. More details of his research will presented in upcoming meetings.
3 August Meeting
- Sisters of the Holy Face
- Dir Cherrie announced to support Sisters of the Holy Face. CMP Jane to discuss with the board of how the club will support HFJ. Click here for a copy of their solicitation letter.
- Communication Seminar
- Community Service Director Jackie indicates that we will move forward our 1 day seminar project “Effective Communication and Public Speaking” on 20 August 2011 from 8:30 to 5:30PM. Vocational directors from our club are encouraged to attend. Click here for event details of the Communication Seminar. Targeted attendees discussion:
- Targeted attendees will be Public School Teachers
- Jackie will ask if Ms. Roa if the subject matter currently prepared is applicable for a younger audience such as college students.
- CMP Jane appealed for up to 50 participants.
- CMP Jane to invite her CMP Classmates

- Both CMP Jane and Secretary Rico have confirmed attendance and have purchased tickets.
- Feeding Program
- RC Bandar Seri Begawan Brunei would like to sponsor a feeding program. DG Billy insists on a needs analysis before proceeding. AG Ces recommends reaching out to local schools.

- Gift of Life Program
- The Rotary Club of Makati West is inviting our participation in the Gift of Life Project – Children Heart Surgeries and Cataract Surgeries. Please let us know if you have possible beneficiaries for these projects. Click here for the checklist of requirements. - The discount for annual membership dues have been extended until our next club meeting.

13 July Meeting
- The wonderful folks at Creative Trends held a brief seminar during the meeting and and gave members small tins of coffee as a souvenir. For details about their services please go to their web site at http://www.creativetrendsph.net/
- Our Club Trainer PP Bing announced that all new and present members take Rotary Academy Training. There is an online Basic Rotary e-Course available. For details, please contact PP Bing.
- PE Jane announcements:
- There is a Medical Mission at Mayamot Elementary school in Antipolo on Friday 15 July. CMP Jane requested for club participation.
- CMP Jane would like for our club members to again participate in EREY this year. She also had a concern that contributing members from last year that may have paid have not been accounted. A report will be sent to members that committed last year.
- TRF Director Eugene announced that he has invited all members to attend his birthday next Wednesday. For details Click here to BOOK your attendance.
