There will be a talent contest among club members inspired by the hit TV musical series “Glee.” Members will be divided into five competing groups. A quiz show is also planned to enhance the member’s knowledge and understanding of Rotary. Prizes await the winners of these contests. The 8th Anniversary will be held exactly on the day of RC Makati McKinley’s chartering, which is October 6. Venue for the celebration is Urdaneta Room, Makati Sports Club. On top of the talent competition and quiz show, there will also be the usual inspirational talks from District officials and key personalities who played major roles in the club’s chartering, as well as ballroom dancing. Jane Lobos, on behalf of the club, pledged P10,000 during the event traditionally observed at the Tuloy school premises in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. This was among the many donations in cash and in kind, the latter usually sacks of rice, made during this annual fund-raising among District 3830 Rotarians for the benefit of Tuloy scholars. The scholars are mostly street children plucked out of the streets to be given a chance to succeed in life through education. Among the largest commitments were celebrity PP Cory Quirino’s P1 million pledge. Support given during the Governor’s Day is used to take care of the daily meals of Tuloy sa Don Bosco students for the entire Rotary year. Four RCMMc members attended the affair, namely Pres. Pres.
Jane, VP Julie Icamina, and Directors Jackie Lay and Liza Gaspar. R.I. President Elect Sajuki Tanaka and Lady Kyoko was the event’s special guest.
